Positive outlook earns Sohns Excellence in Life nomination

Staff Report

Smile at the World Orthodontics and ESPN Radio Central Texas are working to highlight a 10-12 grade student each week.
This recognition includes highlighting academics, extracurricular, and community-school involvement.
The student will also be highlighted over the BHS football radio broadcast, receive a plaque from Cumulus Radio Station. BHS may nominate 10 recipients.

Chloe Lewis has been nominated for the award. She’s currently a senior at BHS. Her counselor, Shawna Bell, had this to say of Lewis: “Chloe is definitely excelling in life as she has many achievements at Belton High School! She is involved in volleyball, basketball, power lifting and track. She also went to state in powerlifting and placed 6th overall. She has been awarded the Outstanding Field Events award for three years in a row. Chloe has also been involved in our Student 2 Student program and French Club. She has been on the BHS Student Council since her sophomore year and was chosen to be the Junior Escort for our graduation and baccalaureate programs last year. She’s currently running for vice president of Student Council.
Last year, Chloe went to Girl’s State and was elected to be the judge for the court of appeals while there. Chloe was also involved with the Belles of Belton last year. She is our Mistress of Ceremonies at all of the Belton Pep Rallies and was voted Most Spirited of 2013.
Chloe is also very involved in our theater programs at BHS. She is in the varsity theater program and will participate in the UIL One Act play. She does a lot of volunteer work through her church and ASTRA. Chloe is involved in all of this and still manages to be in the top 10 percent of her graduating class! She would like to get a track and field scholarship and study perfoming arts and broadcasting in her college of choice.
Chloe is well loved by her peers and the faculty at BHS. I would say that because of her many involvements, almost everyone at BHS knows who Chloe Lewis is! Chloe’s hard work and determination to be her best will help her excel in college and life. She is well deserving of this award!
