Police investigating murder in Heights on Monday

On Monday, August 28, at approximately 11:20 p.m., Harker Heights Police received a call of an individual shot and lying in the private driveway between two restaurants in the 100 block of Central Texas Expressway. Responding officers arrived at approximately 11:23 p.m. and found a deceased white male who had received a fatal gunshot wound.

The victim of the Monday night murder investigation has been confirmed by the Southwest Medical Examiner’s office by fingerprint match as Alonzo Thomas Patton, a 48 year old white male.

The individual was pronounced as deceased by Bell County Justice of the Peace Claudia Brown.  An autopsy has been ordered.

The Harker Heights Police Criminal Investigation are continuing with the investigation.
