Nothing Bundt Cakes had a generous two-day special Grand Opening at their new Harker Heights location.
Nothing Bundt Cakes is a franchise with locations nationwide, specializing in unique handcrafted bundt cakes served in a variety of flavors and sizes to satisfy the occasional sweet craving or for special occasions.
“This is something you could be proud to sell and to be proud to bring into a community and people will have smiles on their face because you’re selling a quality product,” said Jack Gabriel, owner.
The Gabriel’s opened their first Nothing Bundt Cake store in Tyler, Texas and now have stores in various locations.
“We love the Hill Country and we love being next to a military base, taking care of our veterans and the people who serve us, we like to serve them,” said Gabriel. “Since we’ve been here, I would have to say, of all the places I’ve ever lived in the United States, these are some of the friendliest people I have ever met in my life, so we like it here,” said Gabriel.
Nothing Bundt Cakes crafts their cakes from scratch, using fresh eggs, real butter, and cream cheese to maintain their “home-kitchen roots” and decadent flavors.
“It’s really nothing like I’ve ever tasted before. It’s just the perfect amount of frosting. It’s not too overpowering and the moistness of the cake is just incredible,” said Rebecca Roehl, employee of Nothing Bundt Cakes.
Customer, Tara Loya and her family have frequented the Harker Heights location since their opening in November.
“Whenever I have a friend over, I’ll come and get the little Bundtini sampler, so we can enjoy a little bit of everything. It’s sweet, it’s delicious, they’re just wonderful little cakes,” said Loya. “I love giving thanks to people. So, they’re just great little feel-good gifts that we give to people,” said Loya.
Friday, Nothing Bundt Cakes held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and a Benefit Day where 20 percent of their sales was donated to the Operation Phantom Support, a local organization dedicated to serving veterans and their families.
“They have been so involved in giving back to our local community and their doors have just been open for just a couple of weeks. So, we’re very honored to have them here,” said Gina Pence, president and CEO of the Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce.
Saturday, Nothing Bundt Cakes provided several samples of their most popular flavors and a 10 inch holiday bundt cake giveaway.
At their opening at 9 a.m., the first 50 customers with a purchase received one free bundtlet per month for a year.
“We actually gave out 160 because they were brave enough to stand out in this kind of weather, in this kind of rain, I said, ‘we gotta take care of these people,’” said Gabriel.
The line of customers before the doors opened was wrapped around the building.
“They have a huge following…They’ll get to your taste buds, then the next piece they get to your heart. We are really lucky to have them,” said Pence.
Nothing Bundt Cakes is located on 201 E Central Texas Expressway, Suite 750, in front of Target.
