Peter Minott was arrested by officers of the Killeen police department after issuance of an arrest warrant for the offense of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon by Bell County Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke on June 15th, 2017.
Minott was charged for an incident which occurred at the Cheddars Restaurant (201 E. Central Texas Expressway, Suite #1000) at approximately 02:20PM, 05/25/2017.
Minott entered the Cheddars Restaurant in Harker Heights. He located the victim (32 year old Killeen man), who was seated at a table having dinner with his wife and two children, and pulled a baseball bat, (Louisville Slugger 31 inch powerized #125L baseball bat), that was hidden in his left pants leg. Minott then struck the victim with the baseball bat in the head, while the victim was looking down at the table. Minott again swung the baseball bat and struck the victim in the left wrist as the victim was blocking the strike of the baseball bat. Minott swung the bat a third time at the victim who was able to grab the baseball bat away from Minott after a short struggle. Minott then pulled his shirt up from his waistband, revealing the handle of a handgun in the waistband of his pants and stated something to the effect of “I have a gun now”, before retreating out of the restaurant and departing the area.
This aggravated assault is believed to be related to an argument/disturbance which occurred the previous day at a residence in Killeen.
Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke set bond for Minot at $100,000.00. Minot is incarcerated at the Bell County Jail.
