Mama Fu’s Asian House opened its doors to Killeen on Monday, October 9; the delicious eatery is known for its unique customization of dishes and special blend of in-house sauces.

This Friday, November 17, Mama Fu’s is holding a formal ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the recent opening of its first location in Killeen from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The ROTC and choir from Ellison High School will be presenting the colors and singing the national anthem, and Mama Fu’s will be presenting a giant $2,400 check to Fisher House in Fort Hood as a result of the fundraiser the restaurant held last month.

Prior to Mama Fu’s Grand Opening, fundraisers were hosted on Friday, October 6 and Saturday, October 7. The fundraising took place from 11 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The proceeds went to Fisher House in Fort Hood, which allows housing for families when loved ones are going through treatments or surgeries. In 2016, Fisher House served more than 28,000 families, and more than 305,000 families have been helped since its inception. The homes are located at major military and VA medical centers nationwide, close to the medical center or hospital they serve. According to the official website, Fisher Houses have up to 21 suites, with private bedrooms and baths. Families share a common kitchen, laundry facilities, a dining room and living room without facing any lodging or transportation fees.
