n are facing a dire situation, one that finds more families in need of assistance but community donations being far less because of the current economic upheaval.

In Texas, the situation is no different. Hurricane Ike saw Texas food banks jump into action to provide meals to displaced families and individuals at emergency shelters. This assistance now finds food banks low on supplies. This is where H-E-B is giving its customers an opportunity to help.

Ever since October 29, Texans can visit their neighborhood H-E-B and participate in the 2008 H-E-B and Procter and Gamble “Stock Up and Give” promotion.

With each purchase of Bounty, Cascade, Charmin, Crest, Duracell, Downy, Febreze, Folgers, Gain, IAMS, Luvs, Pantene, Pringles, Swiffer or Tide products, a $1 donation will be made to the local area food bank servicing the area where the donation is collected, up to $50,000.

In most instances, for every $1 donated, meals can be provided to feed a family of up to six people - a meal that certainly will be most welcome during the approaching holiday season. The promotion runs through December 2, 2008 at all Texas H-E-B stores.
