Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center is making the flu vaccine available during evening hours at the Emergency Department’s atrium, located next to the emergency room. Army Public Health Nursing will give the vaccine on a walk-in basis to all military healthcare beneficiaries on the following dates and times: Nov. 4, 6, 13, 18, and 20 from 5-7 p.m. and Dec. 2 and 4 from 5-7 p.m. The Emergency Department atrium is located on the 1st floor foyer of the Education and Training Department at CRDAMC adjacent to the ED. Please ask at the Information Desk for directions. Children ages 3 - 17 years with respiratory or immune diseases cannot be vaccinated with FluMist and should be vaccinated with normal FluZone (not Pediatric FluZone). Normal FluZone will not be available from CRDAMC until mid-to-late November. FluMist is for healthy individuals ages 2 to 49. Individuals 49 and over will receive the flu shot instead of the FluMist. For questions, please contact Army Public Health Nursing at 287-6789. |
