AUSTIN – Col. Ralph C. Gauer Sr. of Harker Heights was recently reappointed to the Texas Military Preparedness Commission by Governor Rick Perry. Gauer is retired district director of Texas Senate District 24. Suzi Watson, Activities Coordinator for the City of Harker Heights, was the guest speaker at Tuesday’s meeting of the Harker Heights Kiwanis Club. The new Harker Heights Public Library and Activities Center is located on land donated by the club. Also pictured is Kiwanis Club President Gary Bradford.

The Harker Heights City Council unanimously agreed to establish a Storm Water Committee during a rare brief regular meeting Tuesday afternoon. The purpose of the committee is to ensure compliance with the selected management practices, keep department heads up to date with ongoing storm water issues, and solicit input from the public.  Read more...
