This past Saturday, members of the Friends of the Harker Heights Public Library met at the site of the nearly completed new library on Indian Trail and planted a garden that Friends donated to enhance the library grounds. As a special project, the Friends voted to use some of its funds to purchase native Texas plants: flowers, shrubs, and trees.  

With assistance from Green Leaf Nursery, SUE DUNLAP, chairperson, and other members of the garden committee researched the type of plants best suited for the area. Then it was time to purchase, deliver, place, and plant. There may have been some stiff backs the next morning among the volunteers who worked on the project, but the fruits of their labor should survive a long time.

DREAM VACATIONS should be just that: A dream that has been tucked away in a remote corner of the mind with a glimmer of hope that one day it could become a reality. Dreams should be wild and wonderful, and outrageously extravagant.
