Heroes on the Water holding third kayaking event

Special to Leader-Press

The Fort Hood chapter of Heroes on the Water (H.O.W.) will hold their third kayak fishing event, on Saturday, June 24, at Dana Peak Park, on Stillhouse Hollow Lake.

The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Those wishing to attend should register in order to ensure enough resources are on hand during the event.

All equipment and lunch will be provided. In case the event is sold out as far as how many Heroes and their family members HOW can equip and feed, you are more than welcome to participate if you have your own equipment and kayak.

H.O.W. helps our nation’s veterans from all services to unwind through the therapeutic qualities of fishing from kayaks.

The unique program provides guided trips which serve to help our vets decompress from the stresses associated with combat and the physical rigors of rehabilitation.
