Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Department summer events

Special to the HHES

Film and Food Fridays at Carl Levin Park

The Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Department will be playing movies this summer on the 3rd Friday of each month, starting in June and concluding in September.  The movies are free and this summer’s theme is a “THROWBACK” of films that parents can introduce their children too, as well as enjoy themselves.

“Offering a movie in the park is a way of getting families to our park in a laid back environment, where they can enjoy a family friendly movie on our inflatable screen. There will be no charge for the movie, and movie goers will have the option of visiting local food truck vendors and stands to purchase concessions.” Said Dorian Evans, Activity Specialist for the City of Harker Heights Parks & Recreation Department.

Our first movie will air on June 16, 2017, at the Carl Levin Amphitheater, 305 Miller’s Crossing, Harker Heights.  Food trucks will open at 8:00pm and the movie will start at dusk.

For more information or to find out what is showing on the big screen, call 254-953-5466, email, or visit”
