“Harker Heights Farmers Market is kicking off National Farmers Market week by giving away reusable Farmers Market bags to the first 200 Market goers on Saturday, August 5. National Farmers Market Week is August 6 – 12 and brings awareness of farmers markets’ contributions to the local area. Farmers Markets provide local sourced food and have a positive impact on local economies through the creation of jobs and maintenance of farm land.
“We are hoping to get local citizens out to meet and chat with their local farmer during National Farmers Market week. It is a great opportunity to learn where your food comes from and meet the person that grows it for you. You do not get this opportunity at your local grocery store.” says Heather Buller, Activities Coordinator.
The market is open every Saturday (May 6-October 28) at Seton Medical Center Harker Heights, 850 W. Central Texas Expressway from 8:00am-1:00pm.
