At a Patriot Rally at Northside Baptist Church on Sunday, Fire Chief Jason Worsdale was honored at the service with the Perseverance Award for his continued service despite some personal family difficulties.
“The name on the award is mine, but the award truly belongs to the entire department,” he said.
The 2016 perseverance award is given for continuing on through much personal and professional hardships. For the last year and a half, Worsdale and the Bell County Fire & Rescue Department have endured many difficulties.
“Thank you, members, for continuing on even when it didn’t seem possible or worth it,” Chief Worsdale said.
All of the Nolanville First Responders were invited to the Patriot Rally.
Police Chief Gary Kent was given an recognition award on Sunday as well for his continued service to the community.
“It was an honor to receive this award,” he said. “It was an honor, just to be considered for this award but it is also about my officers, we are a team.”
