CTC Continuing Education offering reflexology certification training

Special the HHES

The Central Texas College (CTC) Continuing Education department has partnered with the International Institute of Reflexology® to offer the Ingham Method® of Reflexology certification training. Often referred to as the gold standard in reflexology training, Phase I of the five-phase certification training will be March 25-26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. The cost is $410 and is due at the time of enrollment. The enrollment deadline is Friday, February 24. A minimum of 10 students is required to conduct the training.

Reflexology is a science dealing with the principle there are reflex areas in the feet and hands which correspond to all glands, organs and parts of the body. Stimulating theses reflex points properly may help many health problems in a natural way as a type of preventative medicine. “Reflexology is an advance in the health field and should not be confused with massage therapy,” said Viola Moger-Crowder, director of CTC’s Licensed Massage Therapy program. “It is more of a gentle manipulation or pressing on certain parts of the feet and hands to produce effects elsewhere in the body. Stress and pain in other parts of the body may be relieved through the manipulation of the feet.”

Phase I of the reflexology training is open to the general public and healthcare providers of all types. Licensed massage therapists will receive 16 continuing education hours for this course.

Anyone may take Phase I with or without the intention to become an Ingham Method® certified reflexologist.
