Belton JV downs Heights

By John Lewis Eubanks

Harker Heights JV football lost to Belton’s JV 43-8 Sept. 22 at Knights Field.
Knights JV coach Stuart West said, “We came out and had some good offensive and defensive series. We made mistakes on both sides of the ball and Belton capitalized on them. We played a tough, well-coached opponent. I feel like our kids are getting better every week and regardless of the score on the board, they are learning what it takes to win games at the next level.”
Offensive standouts were Jaylen McElrath, Duncan Ard and C.J. Dixon. Defensive standouts were Devin Barnes, Erick Alvarez and Dee White.
Heights was scheduled to play a lone JV game Thursday at Midway.
