Updated information: The follow-up investigation and a subsequent interview of reported victim revealed that there was NOT an attempted abduction.
The teenager was in fact late for school and constructed the tale as an excuse for the tardiness. The case is being closed as unfounded by the HHPD and the conduct of the teenager will be evaluated to determine if a chargeable offense was committed.
The HHPD is thankful that there is no apparent risk to our children associated with this incident.

On February 7 at approximately 10:59 a.m. officers met a 13-year-old juvenile and his mother at the Harker Heights Police Department. The Juvenile reported while walking to Union Grove Middle School at approximately 7:50 a.m. a white male drove up in a black in color, possible Tahoe with dark tinted windows.
According to the juvenile, the male asked if he wanted a ride to school and when advised no, the male exited the vehicle, grabbed the juvenile by the shoulder and pushed him toward the vehicle. At this time, another vehicle approached this location and the male got into his vehicle and departed.
The juvenile described the subject as a white male approximately 5’6”, wearing a solid gray hoodie, denim style jeans, Nike running shoes and Ray Ban sunglasses, clean shaven with brownish eyebrows.
Following this reported incident, the Killeen Independent School District notified local parents from Union Grove Middle School and provided them with information and a safety letter.
Anyone having information about this incident should contact the Harker Heights Police Department at (254) 943-5400, Criminal Investigation Division.
